When one door closes.....
Well, my managers told me today that I didn't get the lead position that I applied for, but I did impress upper management during my interview. My managers let me in on a lil' secret. There's another lead position opening up on a different team and my name is flying among management as a good candidate. It should be posted next week, so I should apply. It would be sad to leave my team. My manager said that she would cry. But if it's a step up and more $ and a great opportunity, why not go for it, right? DH is upset that I did not get the job this time. I expected not to get it. The candidate who will be offered the position has been there longer than I have, has management experience, and has traveled and assisted in training new groups. Plus I respect her. I'm glad that it was someone on our team instead of an outsider who doesn't understand our dynamics.
